A premium offline-first Android application for Indian farmers managing beehives. Tracks hive health, logs inspections, provides AI-driven intervention suggestions, monitors honey yields, and includes automated reminders and data export.

Madhu Marga is a premium offline-first Android beekeeping management application built for Indian farmers and rural apiarists operating in areas with unreliable or no internet connectivity. The app tracks hive health, logs structured inspections, suggests AI-driven interventions based on observed conditions, monitors honey harvest yields, and provides seasonal floral guidance. Built natively for Android using Room SQLite as the foundation, allowing farmers in remote areas to manage their entire operation without needing cloud connectivity.

The architecture is entirely offline-first: all data lives in Room SQLite database, giving farmers full functionality on their phones regardless of network status. Inspection logging captures queen presence, pest activity, and temperature observations, which feed into an automated AI decision matrix — rule-based expert logic that evaluates these conditions and returns color-coded actionable interventions like Emergency Re-queening, Mite Treatment, or Harvest Alerts. Harvest tracking logs honey yields by season and hive, visualized through interactive bar charts powered by MPAndroidChart, showing annual yield trends at a glance. A built-in flora blooming calendar provides seasonal guidance for tracking local floral nectar and pollen flow across different Indian regions. Background automation runs via WorkManager, a periodic worker that checks inspection histories and triggers local notifications when hive evaluations are overdue — a 14-day cycle reminder without requiring network calls. Data export is one tap: all hive, inspection, and harvest records export to CSV directly to the device's Downloads folder for farmers to share with agricultural extension officers. Security uses local Room DB credential management with mathematical password hashing. Optional cloud functionality integrates Firebase Authentication and Analytics (Firebase BoM v34.13.0) for farmers who want to back up data, but the app functions fully without it. The UI prioritizes accessibility and simplicity — built for users with varying technical literacy, particularly rural farmers. Target SDK is API 34 with minimum support for API 24 (Android 7.0)
